Easy Ways to Reduce Your Kid’s Exposure to Cell Phone Radiation

Keep harmful radiation at bay.

In recent years, there has been a lot of discussion about cell phone radiation and its impact on our bodies. One study found that 10 years of cellphone use resulted in an average 290 percent increased risk of brain tumor development. Interestingly, the tumor development was found on the side of the head in which the cellphone was used most often.

In the USA, the average child has their first cell phone at age six. With the study in mind, that means that by the time the average child is 16, their risk of developing a brain tumor has soared by 290 percent. With that said, there are some essential precautions to take if your child has their own cell phone.

Use these seven tips below to reduce cellphone radiation in your children (and yourself!):

  1. Use the speakerphone or plug in earphones when on a call. This way, you keep the phone from getting too close to your head.
  2. Keep your phone charged – when the bars are low on your phone, it begins to work harder to capture a signal from the radio towers, meaning that the radiation it emits is even greater.
  3. Text instead of calling. The radiation is far lower for sending a message than picking up a call.
  4. Look for low-radiation emitting phones for your child. Check out the top phones for low-radiation emissions here.
  5. Allow your child to use the landline instead of calling on their mobile phone.
  6. Keep the cell phone off and away from you while sleeping.
  7. Minimize use and don’t allow your child to have a phone until they reach their teen years.

Talking less on your phone, or eliminating use completely, is a sure way to drop the risk of damage later on in life. While this may seem impossible, it is entirely doable and will significantly improve social skills, sleep, and overall health!
